National Theatrical Tour Announced for December

Salem, MA — Tonight, Cinema Salem hosts the premiere of Deaf Santa Claus, a new feature film based on a true story that follows Charles Graves, a Deaf man with an uncanny resemblance to Santa Claus who pursues his dream of becoming a professional Santa.

The premiere marks the official launch of a national theatrical tour that will roll out in nearly 20 cities across the United States beginning in December, with more cities being added in the coming weeks. Screenings will feature post-film conversations with filmmakers, Deaf Santa Claus, and community partners, creating opportunities for families, schools, and advocates to engage directly with the story.

“This premiere is about more than a film,” said Anthony Mowl, co-director of Deaf Santa Claus. “The idea of Deaf Santa Claus is about inclusion — reimagining holiday traditions so every child can see themselves at the center of the story. Launching this tour from Salem sets the stage for a national moment.”

Evan Winegard, president and chair of the Deaf Santa Claus Foundation, emphasized the organization’s mission. “Our job is to make sure no family is left out of the holidays. Every child deserves the chance to sit with Santa Claus and be understood. This tour is about fulfilling that promise, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to see Deaf Santa Claus.”

The December tour will bring Deaf Santa Claus to theaters, schools, and community venues nationwide, including New Braunfels, Los Angeles, Rochester, Columbus, Frederick, and additional stops across the US. More cities and venues will be confirmed in the weeks ahead.
