This holiday season, Deaf Santa Claus is on the road — and on the screen. With over 30 screenings of the Deaf Santa Claus documentary across 11 states, we want every community to experience not just the film, but the conversation that follows.
In our earlier letters, we shared the challenges: interpreter costs that can consume nearly half of an event’s budget, the need for outreach so families even know where to find a Deaf Santa, and the reality that many deserving Santas can’t invest in suits or training because accessibility drives costs up. These are systemic barriers — and they don’t disappear just because it’s Christmas.
Your gift helps us meet those challenges head-on. It ensures that Deaf Santa Claus, our directors, and members of our cast and crew can attend screenings, engage audiences, and bring this story directly to children, families, and communities.
Funding Plan & Impact
Our first goal is to raise $50,000 to support our 2025 Holiday Season:
- Open Access for Families – Keep appearances and screenings low- or no-cost so every child can participate- no matter a family’s budget.
- Language Access – Provide American Sign Language (ASL) access so Deaf and hearing kids can share the same magical moment together.
- More Events & Memories – Expand Deaf Santa Claus to more cities and neighborhoods; turn 30+ screenings into fully accessible community events.
- Parent-Centered Outreach – Bring Deaf Santa Claus to local schools and nonprofits where families already gather, and make participation simple.
- Education and Training – Equip all Santas, staff, and seasonal workers with inclusion training and resources they can use year-round.
- Community Storytelling – Partner with local media to spotlight inclusive holiday traditions and invite more families in.
Why Your Support Matters
Many screenings happen simultaneously in different states. Without support, we can’t be in all the rooms where these conversations should happen. With your help, every screening can be more than just a film — it can be a turning point for representation, for children meeting a Santa who signs, for families seeing themselves on screen, and for communities building new traditions.
Every donation makes this possible. Together, we can bring Deaf Santa Claus to over a dozen communities this season, creating hundreds of opportunities for connection and visibility.
