Privacy policy.

How we handle the information you share with us — written in plain language, no legalese.

Last updated: May 27, 2026

Deaf Santa Claus Foundation (“DSCF,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit our website or interact with us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

We collect two kinds of information:

Information you give us directly. When you contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, make a donation, or place an order in our shop, we collect details like your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, and payment information.

Information collected automatically. When you browse deafsantaclaus.org, our hosting provider and analytics tools may automatically log information like your IP address, browser type, pages you visit, and the time of your visit. This helps us keep the site secure and understand which content is useful.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the services or products you’ve requested
  • Process donations and send tax receipts
  • Fulfill orders from our shop
  • Send newsletter updates if you’ve subscribed (you can unsubscribe anytime)
  • Improve our website and programs
  • Comply with legal obligations, including reporting requirements for nonprofits

We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Ever.

How we share information

We share information only with trusted partners that help us run the foundation — and only as needed to deliver what you’ve asked for. These include:

  • Zeffy — processes donations on our behalf
  • Stripe — processes shop payments
  • Our email service provider — sends newsletters and transactional emails
  • Kinsta — hosts our website
  • Google Analytics — helps us understand site usage in aggregate

Each of these partners has their own privacy practices, and we choose them carefully. We may also disclose information when required by law, such as in response to a valid court order.

Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies — small files stored in your browser — to remember preferences, keep you logged into your account (if you have one), and measure site traffic. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work as expected.

Your rights and choices

You can:

  • Unsubscribe from our newsletter anytime using the link in any email
  • Request access to the personal information we have about you
  • Request corrections to inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information, subject to record-keeping requirements for tax-deductible donations

To make any of these requests, email us at contact@deafsantaclaus.org.

Residents of California, the European Union, and other jurisdictions with specific privacy laws may have additional rights under those laws. Contact us to exercise them.

Children’s privacy

DSCF serves Deaf and Hard of Hearing children, but our website is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we’ve inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.

Data security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. No internet transmission is 100% secure, but we work to minimize risk through trusted partners (Stripe and Zeffy for payments, encrypted hosting via Kinsta) and follow current best practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we’ll notify subscribers by email.
